Here is where you may find answers to the most common questions our customers ask. If you don’t find your answers below, please contact us. We welcome your inquiry.
We ask that you examine any products received from us and notify us within 3 days if there is damage. Due to shipping claims this will be of help to us. We care greatly about our quality and pay strict attention to detail. We are not perfect. If any of our products are defective in material or workmanship we will replace the exact image or refund at our sole discretion. Due to the nature of our art, exchanges for a different image, after receiving, for obvious reasons, is not endorsed.
Currently no, we’ll ship your package anywhere in the USA that a live representative can accept deliveries.
Of course! We do not “Buy/Sell” others work. We do not market other peoples creativity. All Artwork we offer for sale was shot by us.
Simple answer THEFT. Unfortunately, due to the way of the internet and society, too many people believe it is acceptable to steal others creative work. Posting images in high quality, high resolution is like leaving your car doors unlocked with the keys in the ignition. To protect against this we degrade the resolution, size and watermark as well as, some other hidden protections into our images posted on this site.
NO. The printed images you will receive will have the same composition. They will be the same image except of MUCH GREATER QUALITY & RESOLUTION. Without the interfering watermark.
Unfortunately in our world there are knockoffs and “copy cats”. In order to thwart this we not only sign our work, we include a “Certificate of Authenticity” with all our works. We have other security measures included which are not discussed here. With this you will always know it is an original Larry Sohn.
Yes. As we hand cut all our mats. We are not a frame shop. They have their field, we have ours. Normally, we try to mat what is known as “Gallery style” so as to separate the image from the frame. Letting the focus be on the Artwork. Our matting is done in conservation grade so as to allow easy and non-damaging removal and replacement.
Yes. We use materials and techniques that are 100% rag, acid free, lignin free, archival, conservation and museum grade. Of course we cannot guarantee, however based upon testing, our artwork, with proper care, should last at least 200 years. All artwork must be protected from physical damage. Although we use some ultraviolet protection it is NOT enough to thwart the damages imposed via UV exposure. Do not place artwork in direct sunlight.
Yes. We can print most any likely size from our original files. If it is too large for our equipment (unlikely), we can have it printed from one of our partners. If the image is such that we believe the blow up would be detrimental to a high quality product, we will advise you, prior to completion. Remember the aspect ratio (height to width proportions) may not be desirable for the selected image, as composition is primary.
Yes. To a certain extent. We care about what our artwork states. We do not wish to put our name to a piece that does not reflect the standards which we stand for.
We believe in capturing the natural spirit in all. There is enough message in what can be found au natural to express ourselves.
We are very capable of doing such. We choose not to. For we believe, in this world of over-saturation, over-stimulation & special effects, a deeper meaning can be conveyed via exposing what truly exists. Besides, if a photo is shot correctly, in the first place, it should not need extensive enhancement later. We see many images that have incredible colors, however we have been to those places and seen the real life image. They do not look like that. We prefer to offer an accurate view of the world, good or bad.
No. We do not sell “products”, whereas the cost factor is based simply upon the purchase price of materials. We offer artwork. A customer is paying for our creativity, our mind & technical prowess. Just as some things in life are more difficult to achieve, so are some of our works. Just as some things in life just don’t turn out as well as expected, some of our pieces may not have resulted as good as we had hoped.
I will not speak for all. However when one compares the quality of paper, ink, matting, tapes etc that we use, there is no comparison. We are not ordering pre-made mats of standard sizes because not every image attains the best composition in a standard aspect ratio. We easily spend over $1,000 for the ink, for just one printer. We use different paper, the highest quality available, for different images, depending upon which works best for that particular artwork. We are not mass-producing. If our original image is not sufficient, it is not super-saturated and then added to the sell group, it is discarded.
A) Contact us to arrange an in person appointment. B) Visit some galleries or find us at Fine Art shows. We are currently working on a page, accessible via menu, on this site, to display our varying show schedules and which galleries are displaying our work at that time.
